Thank You For Your Support | A Message From Head of School Father Brian Sullivan

Updated: Aug 15, 2023

Dear St. B's Community, Thank you for being so supportive yesterday during the zoning hearing. Your help and dedication to the school, its mission, and our students have kept us successful in this zoning process. After hearing yesterdays' statements, our Cobb County Commissioners have decided to continue the zoning hearing. We are committed to finding a solution that works for the school and our neighboring communities. Your continued support is needed at the next hearing on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 8:30 A.M., at the Cobb County Government Building (100 Cherokee Street, Marietta Square). There will be a continued public hearing on the property's zoning for the school's use. If you have not already sent an email, please share your support for these plans with our commissioners. While the commissioners like a personal email, I have included a template. We are fully committed to our families and, most importantly, to the students here at St. Benedict's. If you have any questions, I can be reached via email at b.sullivan@stbs.org or by phone at 678-684-8440. Sincerely, Father Brian Sullivan Head of School St. Benedict's Episcopal School

PLEASE EMAIL OUR COMMISSIONERS: EMAIL ADDRESSES: lisa.cupid@cobbcounty.org keli.gambrill@cobbcounty.org jerica.richardson@cobbcounty.org joann.birrell@cobbcounty.org monique.sheffield@cobbcounty.org SUBJECT LINE: Support for Z-78 (2021)/SLUP-11 - St. Benedict's EMAIL TEMPLATE: Dear Commissioners, I am writing in support of Z-78 (2021)/SLUP-11 for St. Benedict's. I am aware there is a small group in one neighborhood opposed to a school moving onto the proposed property in favor of high-density housing. We have worked hard to maintain a small community “feel” in our community, which is not provided by more townhouses. The community support for St. Benedict’s zoning goes well beyond a few people in one neighborhood. Over the past decade, St. Benedict’s has continued to maintain their carpool and traffic as they expand. Furthermore, the traffic impact is for 15 short minutes twice on weekdays and only during the school year. This small inconvenience is worth having an incredible asset and community partner like St. Benedict’s. Please vote in favor of zoning for St. Benedict’s Episcopal School. Sincerely,
