Enrollment Steps

Step 1 — Attend an Open House or Admissions Information Session: Interested parents should attend one of these events to learn about our school history and programs. Dates for these events are listed on the Admissions page of our school's website. Admissions events are led by our Director of Admissions and Head of School and include an information session and opportunity for conversation with our admissions staff, students, and parents. To register for one of these events, please create an account in Ravenna here.

Step 2 — Submit Application: Create an account with your email address in our portal here. There is a $100 Non-Refundable application fee.

The Preschool application requires the following information:

Teacher Evaluation Form for students that are currently in school. Our recommendation forms can be accessed through our online portal system.

  • PreK applicants that are not currently in school will be required to take an in-person admissions assessment. All other grade levels may have this requirement waived if the student is not currently in school.

  • Family Interview with an admissions personnel or Director of Preschool

The Kindergarten through 5th Grade application requires the following:

  •  Teacher Evaluation Form for students that are currently in school. Our recommendation forms can be accessed through our online portal system.

  • Copies of recent academic records / current transcripts (previous 2 years, if available)

  •   In-House Admissions Assessment

  •   Copies of educational assessments and other relevant evaluations (when applicable)

The 6th - 8th Grade application requires the following:

  • Copies of recent academic records / current transcripts (previous 2 years, if available)

  • In-House Admissions Assessment

  • A minimum of two confidential teacher recommendations (English and Math Teachers) as well as a Counselor/Principal Evaluation Form. Our recommendation forms can be accessed through our online portal system. Parents email recommendation requests directly to the teacher, who will complete and return the form directly to us.

  • A recent SSAT admissions test score — School Code is 6340

  • Copies of educational assessments and other relevant evaluations (when applicable)

Step 3 — In-House Admissions Testing: Testing prospective Kindergarten – 8th-grade students takes place on campus by appointment with the admissions office. The SSAT is accepted for students applying to grades 6 - 8.

Step 4 Parent & Student Interviews: A parent and child interview is required for families applying to Preschool 1s - PreKindergarten. The interview process allows students and families to learn more about St. Benedict's, ask questions, and determine whether our school is a good fit for their children. Families applying to Kindergarten - 8th Grade, although not required, may schedule a 15-minute zoom meeting with a member of our admissions team to determine if St. Benedict's is a good fit.

Step 5 — Student Shadow Day: 2nd - 8th-grade applicants are invited to participate in a shadow day, where they spend half a day at St. Benedict's and be paired with a student ambassador in their same Grade. Applicants are encouraged to participate in classes and actively participate in school activities. The shadow day gives applicants an opportunity to experience a day in the life of a St. Benedict's student and allows teachers to directly observe the applicant. For convenience, we administer our In-House admissions assessment on the same day as a Shadow Day.

Step 6 — Notification: Once all application documents have been submitted, we review the application carefully to determine whether your child will be a good fit for St. Benedict's and would benefit from our program.

  • Preschool 1s and 2s Notification Date: January 14, 2022

  • Preschool 3s and PreKindergarten Date: January 28, 2022

  • Kindergarten - 8th Grade Date: April 2, 2022

Applications received outside of the admissions window deadlines will be considered on a rolling basis, with decisions being sent within two weeks of completing the final admissions requirements.

Once you return the enrollment contract with a $1,600 non-refundable deposit, your child will be officially enrolled for the desired school year. The deposit will be applied to your first tuition payment.

Step 7 — Enrollment: With your admissions notification, you will receive an enrollment contract and deposit form. Return this contract along with a $1,600 non-refundable deposit to officially enroll your child. The deposit will be applied to your tuition balance.
