About Me

Karen Anderson was born in Pasadena, California.  She moved to Fort Worth, Texas as a young child, and then to Jacksonville, Florida.  She attended Ole Miss and Samford University for her undergraduate degree.  Straight out of college, she got a job as a first-grade teacher at Advent Episcopal School.

Karen is a fanatic for traveling. She loves to travel to new countries whenever she has time. She has been to China, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and Turkey!

Teaching, of course, is her passion. At age five, she told her mother how lucky teachers are to have been born teachers. Her mother explained that teachers aren't born teachers, they were kids who grew up and went to school to learn how to be teachers. That was the moment she knew she wanted to be a teacher! She still knows that she made the right choice and hasn't looked back!  After teaching six years in Birmingham, she decided to move to Atlanta with her 3-year-old Labradoodle named Dr. Seuss.
