8th Grade Trip to D.C. and Philadelphia

The culmination of every student's time at St. Benedict’s is the 8th Grade class trip.  This year the Class of 2020 will head to Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, PA (from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport).  The trip will include visiting many key sites in D.C., hiking the Compton Gap Trail, floating on the Shenandoah River, and seeing key sites in Philadelphia.  Students taste authentic Philly cheesesteaks and run the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art where "Rocky" was filmed!

Dr. Rumiano named

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Dr. Jeff Rumiano for being named Georgia Independant School Association Middle School Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Rumiano is our 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts teacher and is well known for his passion for literature and his editing skills with both the students and our own staff.  The administration submitted his name to GISA as a nominee in April. Over the five month process he was interviewed and questioned about his teaching career and style of teaching.  Last Monday he received the award at the GISA annual conference.

Dr. Stan Whitlock, VP of GISA, said, “The Teacher of the Year Award bestows well-deserved recognition to a GISA collaborator who exhibits best practices in the classroom and a willingness to share and collaborate with other educators.  GISA commends its teachers who inspire excellence in the classroom, among colleagues, and especially students.”

Support The Acorn Fund

The Acorn Fund is the most important fundraising campaign St. B’s embarks on every year. Gifts, large and small, make possible all resources and programs that make your student’s education unique and powerful. Our goal for this year is to raise $180,000 with 100% Parent, Board, Faculty, and Staff participation.
