Stingers Squad August Recap: A Joyful Start to The New School Year

Welcome back, St. Benedict’s community!

The Auxiliary Programming team is excited to begin another school year of creating engaging, supportive experiences for St. B’s students and families. From Extended Care and Clubs to Stingers Unplugged days and other auxiliary programs throughout the year, our goal is to provide students with opportunities to connect, explore, and have fun beyond the school day.

A Strong Start to the School Year

During the first week of school, the Stingers Squad team has worked closely with classroom teachers, principals, and Assistant Head of School Anne Shamanski to help create a smooth transition from the school day into aftercare and provide consistency for students throughout their day.

Our Kindergarten through 8th grade aftercare students have already been busy enjoying outdoor play, get-to-know-you games, team-building activities, board and card games, and STEAM activities in the game room.

Students are also helping shape their aftercare experience this year by sharing ideas for activities they would like to see throughout the school year. We look forward to incorporating their creativity and interests into the program.

Stay Connected with Stingers Squad

Families enrolled in Extended Care can get a closer look at what students are doing by joining the Stingers Squad shared Google Photos album. You can also adjust your settings to receive notifications when new photos are added. If you need the album link, please refer to the Extended Care welcome email sent by Stingers Squad on August 11.

Throughout the year, be sure to read The Weekly Buzz for Stingers Squad announcements, upcoming programs, events, and registration deadlines. Families can also view important dates on our School Break & Auxiliary Programs Calendar. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please contact Maurice Shaffer or Anna Fincher.

We’re looking forward to a great year with our St. B’s students and families!
