When Rich and Sarabeth Stine enrolled their child into St. Benedict’s last year, they didn’t know a single person. The transition was hard, and they worried about how their son Steele would adjust. But within weeks of arriving at St. Benedict’s, everything began to change.
“The teachers and families met us with warmth, our son’s confidence soared, and things just feel better because school, faith, and community are all pulling in the same direction,” the Stines shared. Steele, now in fourth grade, found real friends, and their family discovered a true sense of belonging.
What has been most meaningful for them isn’t just academics, but the everyday culture of kindness. Steele is flourishing in the classroom, but just as importantly, he is growing in his relationship with God in a place where classmates genuinely look out for one another. As the Stines put it, “St. B’s celebrates being both excellent and kind, both head and heart, and that combination has been uniquely transformative.”
Stories like this are made possible through the Acorn Fund, St. Benedict’s most important giving priority. The Acorn Fund bridges the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a St. Benedict’s education, supporting everything that makes our school distinctive, such as teacher development, technology, Spanish integration, enrichment, athletics, the arts, and financial aid. This year, 10% of the Fund will also support the beautification of our campuses, creating even more welcoming spaces for our children to thrive.
We are excited to launch Phase Two of the Acorn Fund, with a goal of reaching $220,000 and achieving 100% participation from parents, faculty, and the board. We appreciate everyone who has given so far! Every gift, whether $25 or $15,000, demonstrates the loyalty and generous spirit of our community and ensures that more students like Steele can experience the transformation that belonging inspires.
Will you join us in writing the next chapter of this story?
